About the author
Lucian (120-192) was a Syrian satirist. His most well-known work, A True Story, is considered by some the earliest known work of science fiction. A collection of his writing, Chattering Courtesans and Other Sardonic Sketches, edited and translated by Keith Sidwell, was published by Penguin Classics.
