About the author

Omar Taher was born in 1974. He became known as an ‘ammiya poet while in his twenties, after publishing two collections in 1999. Two more collections followed, ‘Erfou Belhhozn (They knew him by melancholy) and Wad’ Muhrig (An embarrassing situation), both published by Dar Merit. His nonfiction books include Shaklaha bazet (Looks like it’s falling apart), Kabitan Misr (Captain Egypt), and Garr Naim (Pulling softly), all published by Atlas. ​
