About the author
Mary Jo Bang is the author, most recently, of A Doll for Throwing, The Last Two Seconds, and Elegy, which received the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her translation of Dante’s Purgatorio will be published next year (all Graywolf). She teaches creative writing at Washington University in St. Louis. Her translations of Shuzo Takiguchi, co-translated with Yuki Tanaka, have been published in A Public Space.
