Join Writing Fellow Nina Ferraz, Editorial Fellows Louis Harnett O’ Meara and Maurice Rodriguez, and A Public Space contributors Kaitlin Hsu and Justine Teu for a conversation about the literature they admire and the alchemy that leads to the story on the page. This is an official Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend event.



Maurice Rodriguez

is a writer, literary translator, and writing instructor. He received an MFA in fiction and nonfiction from the New School, and his work was selected for Deep Vellum's 2024 Best Literary Translations anthology.

Louis Harnett O’Meara

is a freelance writer and editor. He received an MFA in fiction from Boston University and has edited for Monocle and the Edinburgh Fringe Review.

Nina Ferraz

was born in Brazil, where she worked for over a decade as an obstetrician-gynecologist; and now lives in New York City, where she received an MFA in fiction from New York University. Her work has been supported by Disquiet International, CAPES, and CNPQ, and published in The Longleaf Review and Regarding Ingres: Fourteen Short Stories from the Frick Collection.
