About the author
Kate Kruimink is a writer from southern Tasmania. She is the author of the novels Heartsease (Picador Australia) and A Treacherous Country (Allen & Unwin), which received the Vogel/Australian's Literary Award. Her novella "Astraea," which appears in this issue, was one of three recipients of the inaugural Weatherglass Novella Prize from Weatherglass Books in England.
