RESILIENT: First/Second Generation Immigrant Poets Define and Negotiate Identity
Wednesday, September 23, 2026 | 6:30pm Poetry Society of America, 119 Smith Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
2021 APS Editorial Fellow Miguel Coronado joins poets Jiwon Choi, Tiffany Troy, and APS contributor Maja Lukic in a conversation on key tensions facing immigrant poets. They understand wanting to thrive in the diaspora while keeping true to their cultural identity and legacy, fully grasping that if we allow others to write our story, we are diminished and erased. Each poet will bring their own narrative on what it means to push back against the coercion of acculturation and assimilation.
