Arinze Ifeakandu was born in Kano, Nigeria, in 1995. An AKO Caine Prize for African Writing finalist and A Public Space Writing Fellow, he is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. His work has appeared in A Public SpaceGuernica, the Kenyon ReviewOne Story, and Redemption Song and Other Stories: The Caine Prize for African Writing 2018God’s Children Are Little Broken Things (A Public Space) is his first book. He lives in Tallahassee, Florida.

Ebenezer Agu lives in Ann Arbor where is a candidate of the University of Michigan's Helen Zell Writers' Program. He is a poet, nonfiction writer, literary critic, and the founder of 20.35 Africa, an annual anthology publishing African poets between the ages of twenty and thirty-five. In 2020, he was nominated for The Future Awards Africa Prize for Literature and was recently named in Open Country's special issue on the next generation of African literature.


A Public Space is an independent, non-profit publisher of the award-winning literary and arts magazine; and A Public Space Books. Since 2006, under the direction of founding editor Brigid Hughes the mission of A Public Space has been to seek out and support overlooked and unclassifiable work.
