Day 5 (November 22) Part I, Chapter IV, Parts 2-3
Monsignor Quixote by Graham Greenepp. 46-56

“He indulged himself in a waking dream of how their journey would go on and on—the dream of a deepening friendship and a profounder understanding, of a reconciliation even between their disparate faiths.”
A journey going on and on: one of the most alluring dreams about human relationships.
“There was no ambiguity, no room for doubt, and no room for faith at all.”
Indeed that would be Hell. The world is getting closer to it since Greene’s time.
“God save me from such a belief (that the whole world knew with certainty that Christ was the Son of God).”
The best prayer so far in the book. Father Quixote surprises us as the best characters do: They lead us further in their thinking.
