The Art of Copyediting

Benjamin Dreyer, author of the New York Times bestseller Dreyer’s English and longtime copy chief and managing editor of the Random House division of Penguin Random House, will lead a class in the art and practicalities of the copyediting process, including insight into his own techniques honed over nearly three decades, from repairing faulty punctuation and grammar to addressing common writerly bad habits; a presentation and detailed analysis of extracts of some of his favorite writing; and an in-class look at writing volunteered by some of the class’s attendees.
